Our client is a global, medium-sized business providing logistics solutions and have a new role for an IT Procurement professional to set the direction of the IT category.

Reporting into the Head of Indirect Procurement, you will lead the IT category – a spend of more than $10m – partnering closely with the CIO (Chief Information Officer) and CDO (Chief Digital Officer) and his team in the USA.

This is an exciting opportunity to strategically influence a variety of IT spend and join at a time when there is a lot of change happening. You will have support from a Senior Buyer on market analysis and running tenders.

The role is ideally suited to someone who doesn’t just want to run tenders but is more interested in working strategically – finding the right providers who can help build a digital organisation. A new Enterprise Data Warehouse has just been approved and you will lead on the supplier selection.

The UK HQ is near Heathrow, but you can work remotely. There will be some international travel to the USA, but no more than 3 or 4 times per year.

The main responsibilities include:

• Partner with key IT stakeholders on their transformation roadmap and work effectively to challenge ways of working
• Identify opportunities to create value and implement them through data analysis, negotiation or process improvement
• Research and analyse current and future buying trends and supply markets
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers
• Work closely with key stakeholders to share and implement category strategies
• Manage supplier performance and seek improvements

Skills and experience required:

• Proven experience in IT procurement, preferably gained in a multi-cultural business
• Inquisitive mind-set and self-starter
• Clear and confident communication skills
