Our client is one of Scotland’s largest and most esteemed full-service legal firms with multiple offices across Scotland. They have created a brand new opportunity for a Bid and Tender Manager to join them and lead on winning, and retaining, business as well as helping raise the profile of the company.

You will have experience in writing bids/tenders for large, and small, commercial contracts and framework agreements. The contracts you will be bidding for are in both private and public sector across a variety of verticals including intellectual property, employment law and commercial property.

This role can have a large degree of home working although you must be prepared to occasionally travel to one of the Scottish offices in Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Angus, Fife or Perth

What will you be doing:

  • Lead on researching, writing, preparing and submitting high quality bids and RFPs
  • Manage the end-to-end bid/tender production process across the company
  • Identify and manage bid portals, identifying new tender opportunities which align with the company’s strategic objectives
  • Manage a Support Co-ordinator
  • Write compelling, high-quality content, ensuring bids and proposals are correctly submitted to maximise business growth success
  • Co-ordinate and schedule the resource and support needed to deliver the various assets and output for each tender
  • Oversee all quality, technical and commercial aspects, developing “best practice” toolkits, systems and processes
  • Centralise and organise current and future tender opportunities in line with the company’s strategy, their contract value and the verticals they cover
  • Work with internal stakeholders including Partners, Legal Advisers and the Marketing Director to maintain the group opportunities pipeline, undertaking assessments of growth opportunities
  • Manage the relationship with the Procurement team in external organisations to aid a smooth bid submission process
  • Oversee the company’s Bid and Content library, by managing the Support Co-ordinator effectively
  • Oversee the production of materials for pitch process and preparing speakers for rehearsals
  • Analysing bid feedback to improve group win rate

Skills and experience required:

  • A proven track record of success in competitive tender/ bid writing leading to securing strategic, high value contracts
  • A good understanding of Procurement and what Procurement look for in a successful bid/tender or RFP
  • Excellent written English skills
  • Able to process and analyse a broad range of data quickly and effectively
  • Effective communicator, able to foster good relationships with people across the organisation including senior stakeholders
  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams and proven track record of performance optimisation
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to complete multiple tasks concurrently
  • Integrity, credibility and calmness under pressure
  • High level of commercial acumen
  • A desire to problem solve and to challenge and be challenged
